Maggie’s Farm + Tour

To start things off, I visited the new-ish location for Maggie’s Farm Distillery in Upper St. Clair right at the beginning of the year. This was my second time doing a tour there by the immensely knowledgeable Regina aka @killdevilqueen. She knows her stuff, gives a quick but thorough tour and ends with a nice sampling of some of the unique offerings from Maggie’s Farm.

With a tour you get a welcome cocktail, the tour itself, four sample pours and an etched Glencairn to take home.

Bartender Liz made me a delicious “Palm Pilot” as my welcome cocktail and then I followed it up with a “Strumming My Painkiller” since we got there early and had some extra time. Both were delicious and dangerously easy to drink. After the tour my buddy and I had a great lunch in their dining room with another cocktail to wrap up the day but unfortunately I can’t recall which one it was…note to self, keep track of the drinks going forward…

If you haven’t been to this location yet, I highly recommend visiting either on your own or taking the tour. If you tour, come early to enjoy your welcome cocktail, ask for a sample of their spiced rum (I think it’s their best offering but it unfortunately wasn’t part of the tasting), and then stick around for lunch afterwards to help recover before heading out again.

In related news, I recently saw that @maggiesfarmrum is looking to expand their reach with some local investment so be sure to check that out if you’re a fan and want to help them get the word out. They make some fantastic stuff and I wish them the best since more people need to know about them (which is another reason why they were my first stop for this account!)
